Description
Easy-to-make berry hand pies with a flaky crust, cooked in an air fryer for a crispy finish.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 3-4 tbsp ice water
- 1 cup mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Mix flour and salt in a bowl.
- Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add ice water gradually until dough forms.
- Chill dough for 30 minutes.
- Mix berries, sugar, and cornstarch in a separate bowl.
- Roll out dough and cut into circles.
- Spoon berry filling onto half of each circle.
- Fold dough over, seal edges, and crimp with a fork.
- Brush pies with egg wash.
- Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes until golden.
Notes
- Use chilled butter for a flaky crust.
- Adjust sugar based on berry sweetness.
- Let pies cool slightly before serving.
