Description

Crispy and flavorful falafel made easily in an air fryer. Perfect for a quick snack or meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried chickpeas (soaked overnight)
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for brushing)


Instructions

  1. Drain soaked chickpeas and pat dry.
  2. Add chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, baking soda, lemon juice, and salt to a food processor.
  3. Pulse until mixture is coarse but holds together.
  4. Form into small patties or balls.
  5. Brush with olive oil.
  6. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Cook falafel in batches for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway.
  8. Serve warm with tahini or hummus.

Notes

  • Do not use canned chickpeas—they are too soft.
  • Soak chickpeas for at least 8 hours or overnight.
  • If the mixture is too dry, add a little water.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
