Description

Crispy, tangy orange chicken made easily in your air fryer for a healthier takeout-style meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water


Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season chicken pieces with salt and pepper.
  3. Dip chicken in beaten eggs, then coat with cornstarch.
  4. Lightly spray air fryer basket with oil and arrange chicken in a single layer.
  5. Cook for 10 minutes, flip, then cook another 5-7 minutes until crispy.
  6. While chicken cooks, combine orange juice, soy sauce, honey, vinegar, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes in a saucepan. Simmer for 3 minutes.
  7. Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until sauce thickens.
  8. Toss cooked chicken with orange sauce and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, spray chicken lightly with oil before air frying
  • Adjust red pepper flakes to control spiciness
