Description
A quick and healthy vegetarian burger recipe using portobello mushrooms cooked in an air fryer.
Ingredients
- 4 large portobello mushrooms, stems removed
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 4 burger buns
- Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, avocado, cheese
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Brush mushrooms with olive oil on both sides.
- Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper on both sides.
- Place mushrooms in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Cook for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway.
- Assemble burgers with buns and desired toppings.
Notes
- Clean mushrooms with a damp cloth instead of washing.
- Check doneness by pressing gently – mushrooms should be tender.
- For cheeseburgers, add cheese during the last minute of cooking.
