Description
A traditional German Christmas bread made with an air fryer for a quick and easy version. This stollen is rich with dried fruit, nuts, and a hint of spice, topped with powdered sugar for a festive touch.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp active dry yeast
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup mixed dried fruit (raisins, currants, candied citrus peel)
- 1/4 cup chopped almonds
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Mix flour, sugar, yeast, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl.
- Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Stir to form a dough.
- Knead the dough for 5 minutes until smooth.
- Fold in dried fruit and almonds.
- Shape the dough into a loaf and place in the air fryer basket.
- Cook at 320°F (160°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- Let the dough rise for 30 minutes for a fluffier texture.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes if serving later.
