Description
Crispy homemade Scotch eggs cooked in an air fryer for a healthier twist on this classic dish.
Ingredients
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 pound ground pork sausage
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
Instructions
- Boil the eggs for 7 minutes, then cool and peel them.
- Mix sausage with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme.
- Divide sausage into 4 equal portions.
- Flatten each portion and wrap around a boiled egg.
- Roll each sausage-wrapped egg in flour.
- Dip in beaten egg, then coat with breadcrumbs.
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Place Scotch eggs in the air fryer basket.
- Cook for 12-15 minutes, turning halfway.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Use room-temperature eggs for easier peeling.
