Description
A quick and crispy chicken parmesan made in the air fryer for a healthier version of the classic dish.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Pound chicken breasts to an even thickness.
- Mix breadcrumbs, parmesan, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Beat egg in a separate bowl.
- Dip chicken in egg, then coat with breadcrumb mixture.
- Lightly spray or brush air fryer basket with olive oil.
- Place chicken in the air fryer and cook for 10 minutes.
- Flip chicken, top with marinara sauce and mozzarella, then cook for 5 more minutes.
- Check internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Let rest for 2 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use panko breadcrumbs for extra crispiness.
- Adjust cooking time based on chicken thickness.
- Serve with spaghetti or a fresh salad.
