Description

A quick and crispy chicken parmesan made in the air fryer for a healthier version of the classic dish.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Pound chicken breasts to an even thickness.
  3. Mix breadcrumbs, parmesan, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  4. Beat egg in a separate bowl.
  5. Dip chicken in egg, then coat with breadcrumb mixture.
  6. Lightly spray or brush air fryer basket with olive oil.
  7. Place chicken in the air fryer and cook for 10 minutes.
  8. Flip chicken, top with marinara sauce and mozzarella, then cook for 5 more minutes.
  9. Check internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  10. Let rest for 2 minutes before serving.

  • Use panko breadcrumbs for extra crispiness.
