Description
A quick and easy chicken schnitzel recipe made in the air fryer for a crispy, golden finish without deep frying.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil (for spraying)
Instructions
- Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness of about 1/2 inch.
- Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with paprika and garlic powder.
- Coat each chicken breast in flour, then dip in egg, and finally press into the breadcrumb mixture.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Lightly spray the chicken with olive oil and place in the air fryer basket.
- Cook for 10 minutes, flip, spray again, and cook for another 8-10 minutes until golden and cooked through.
Notes
- Use panko breadcrumbs for extra crispiness.
- Check internal temperature with a meat thermometer (165°F/74°C).
- Let the schnitzel rest for 2-3 minutes before serving.
